Excellent bike for 4-8 year olds (38â-50â height), possibly an adept 3-year-old, for boys and girls. It is a common mistake for parents/kids to bump up to a larger bike prematurely believing it will be better while only adding weight and making riding more difficult. Larger wheels do not make a bike easier to ride. If the rider is comfortable on the 16â bike, stick with the smaller, lighter bike.
SAFE, Coaster brakes included; best and safest type of brakes for the smallest children. Small hands have difficulty with leverage using hand brakes. Hand brakes go well for children large enough for a 20â bike.
